Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and dear friend, Donna Lue Corbett Pearce passed away peacefully on September 1, 2021. She was 96 years old.
Donna was born August 23, 1925 in Smithfield, Utah, to Frank LeRoy Corbett and Annie Elizabeth Nyman. She was the youngest of eight sisters and everyone's favorite. Donna attended elementary school and junior high in Smithfield and North Cache High School in Richmond.
Donna married her eternal sweetheart Lamont Pearce on March 25, 1949. They were sealed in the Manti Temple May 17, 1951. They had three sons and two daughters. Donna was very close to her sisters. They got together regularly for birthday parties and travel. They were great friends and enjoyed being together. Donna was a kind and loving wife and mother. She was happiest when she had one of her children by her side catching up on family news. She loved every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed playing with them and watching them grow. She made each one feel special. She will be greatly missed.
Donna was a hard worker and enjoyed working in her yard and large garden with Lamont. They always worked side by side. She helped take care of their four hundred chickens and the egg business. She was also an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking meat and potatoes for her family. She bottled hundreds of bottles of peaches and pears which Lamont enjoyed. She loved animals. She had a childhood horse, and many cats and dogs through the years.
Donna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed many callings and especially loved serving as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple with her husband Lamont. She served alongside Lamont when he was in a branch presidency of a nursing home. Donna gave special love and care to all the sisters. She continued to show this love to other residents at the Beehive House.
Donna is survived by her five children, Steven (Karen) Pearce, Rodney (Trudy) Pearce, John (Pat) Pearce, Bonnie (Jerry) Clark, Carolyn (Layne) Thorup, 15 grandchildren, and 35 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Lamont Pearce, daughter-in-law Jill Pearce, and grandson Tyler Pearce.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sandy 1st Ward Chapel, 220 E. 8670 S., Sandy, Utah. Interment will follow at Paradise Cemetery. A special thanks goes to the Beehive House of Draper, Utah and Symbii Hospice Care. Your loving care for Donna was greatly appreciated.
