Donna Faye Malmgren Jones, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away May 28, 2020 surrounded by her loving family, after complications from a fall and fractured hip.
She was born October 30, 1935 to Faye Pierce and Erick Cleo Malmgren in Levan, Utah, the first of five children. She was raised in Levan graduating from Juab High School. She married Theodore (Ted) O. Jones April 16, 1955 in Levan, Utah, their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints April 19, 1972.
Being raised on a farm Donna learned the value of hard work at a young age, she kept this work ethic with her throughout her life, working in the office at Thermoid Rubber Plant, California Pacific Utilities, and as owner/operator of T.J's Drive-in with her husband for 18 years. Donna was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, Relief Society presidency, primary teacher, and visiting teacher. She loved music and sang in the ward choir for 30 years. She was also involved with Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, quilting, and other women's organizations.
She was a beautiful quilter, she hand quilted and tied many quilts for each one of her children and grandchildren, winning many ribbons at the county fair.
She was a sports enthusiast, and found much happiness cheering on her three boys and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their various activities. She rarely missed a game, dance/piano recital, or whatever else her family might be involved in.
Donna loved to dance with Ted, and since his passing May 8, 2011, had longed to hit the dance floor with him once again. We love the thought of a heavenly waltz going on.
She was "one of a kind" and will be deeply missed but not forgotten. She always put her family first, they were her pride and joy. She taught by example and was a woman of Integrity and True Grit. Her value of family will live on in each of us.
Donna is survived by her 3 sons Michael (Ann) Jones, Gary (Lori) Jones, Val (Heidi) Jones all of Nephi, 13 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren, (with more on the way), sisters Sharleen (Glen) Jarrett, Salt Lake City, Beverly (Delmar) Howlett, American Fork, Renae (Edward) Hicks, Pottsboro, Texas, and brother Ed (Carlene) Malmgren, Nephi.
