Donna Belliston Jenkins passed away on October 19, 2018, at age 103. She was born in Nephi, Utah on April 25, 1915 to Wilford and Winifred Warr Belliston. After graduating from Juab High School and Henager Business College, Salt Lake City, she served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Eastern States Mission from 1936 to 1938, starting in Altoona, PA, and then transferring to Mission Headquarters in New York City, where she was Secretary to the Mission President.
After returning home, Donna worked in the personnel department at ZCMI. Following this she was privileged to have the experience of working in the Church Office Building, first as a switchboard operator, then as Secretary to Joseph Anderson, who was Secretary to the First Presidency. Heber J. Grant was then President of the Church, followed by George Albert Smith. She also sang in, what was then known as, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir for seven years.
Donna married Loskiel W. Jenkins in the LDS Salt Lake City Temple on August 13, 1947. She lived in San Diego, CA after that time. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in all the auxiliary organizations, as a member of the Stake Music Committee, and as Ward Music Chairman. She sang in choirs, trios, and quartets, and was the accompanist for other singers. She especially enjoyed teaching music to the children in the Primary organization, which she did for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Paul) Smith of West Valley City, UT; son, Marcus (Charlene) Jenkins of Lynnwood, WA; daughter, Kathleen (Joseph) Manaole of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Loskiel Jenkins; two sisters, Edith Beckstead and Dorothy Smith; brother, Byron Belliston.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov 3, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church, 351 North 100 West, Nephi, UT 84648. Viewing will at the church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Vine Bluff Cemetery.
