Donald J. Roden

Don was born in Murray, Utah. In his youth he was best described as a wild child who never settled down. He was taught the carpet trade at 14 and was a skilled installer all of his life. Don took pride in his work, often being requested and landing big jobs. He played an important role in helping others have careers in the carpet industry by sharing his knowledge and hard work ethic. Don had many hobbies, he loved to cook, go to movies, and even just chill with his family. Don bought his first love at 17 years old, a 1969 Camaro, and got his first tattoo at 17 as well, a ghost reaper. Eventually he would have many tattoos, often seeking out artists from tattoo conventions. He was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Chicago Bulls. You always knew if his team was winning... or if they were losing. Don's greatest loves were Pretty Girl (his wife), children and grandchildren, often spending weekends with his beautiful granddaughters. He was a proud father, and his children were his legacy.

Don lives his life at full speed, always pushing the limits and living life to his fullest. Although lost to us too soon, he will always be remembered as fearless, brazen and confident. He was a beloved husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle and friend. His love was contagious and even if you were not family, he made you feel like you were. He was known to take others in, and be a beloved father figure to them as well, showing his true capacity for love.

It has been said the man had nine lives, unfortunately he just could not win the final battle. Don is preceded in death by his father: Ronald Roden. He is survived by his Mom: Bernice Lamb, Dad: Troy Villiard, Wife: Lindsey Ray Roden, Children: Aaron Don Roden, Derek Paul Roden, Jessica Rae Roden, and KenLynn Ray Robinson, Granddaughters: Elika Anne Roden and Arya Mae Roden, Siblings: Ronald Roden (Vickie), Jackie Roden, Robert Smith (Ellie) James Smith, Johnny Smith (Theresa), and Jeff Laub, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Don on Saturday, June 5th, 2021 from 3-8 p.m. at 7288 South 3200 West, West Jordan, Utah 84084.
