Donald George Lockhart

Our loving husband, father, grandpa, brother and uncle passed away January 18, 2015 due to multiple health issues caused by Agent Orange.

Donald George Lockhart was born December 25, 1942 to Cullen George and Maida Lund Lockhart.

He lived most of his growing years in Clearfield, Utah and graduated from Davis High. Don served a mission to the Central States. After his mission he attended BYU for a time.

In June 1966, Don joined the U.S. Army and deployed to Vietnam, serving one year there, where he was very heavily exposed to Agent Orange. He returned stateside in June 1967.

He met Susan Larson in Tooele, Utah, and they married in the Salt Lake Temple on Dec. 29, 1967 (Honey, thank you for 47 years).

Don has been a wonderful father to six children, and is survived by wife, Susan; children, Donald Troy, Salt Lake; Brett (Amy), Kearns; Melanee (Dan) Watkinson, Bothell, WA; Jody John, Sandy; Christian, West Valley City; and Erick, Sandy; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jeanette Wolfe, Ogden; Kaye Vania, Idaho; Mark Lockhart, Arizona; Neil Lockhart, So. Weber, UT; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents.

We would like to express our appreciation to the nurses and staff of Harmony Health Care, especially Becky Sheehan, who has been his CNA for 9 years.

Don, we love you and miss you, but look forward to our eternal family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 23, at 12 noon at the Mount Jordan 2nd Ward, 9331 South 300 East, Sandy. There will be a viewing Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale, and again at the church one hour prior to services.
