Donald Gustav Haumann

Donald Gustav Haumann passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at the age of 91 at the Alpine Valley Care Center in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He was born March 26, 1928 to Virgil and Mary Haumann in Nampa, Idaho. He grew up in the Huston and Sunny Slope communities. Don graduated from Marsing High School where he was very active in sports earning letters in both football and basketball and was class president his senior year.

He married Rhonda Hale June 22, 1947 in Marsing, ID. The marriage was later solemnized in the Boise Temple. They lived and farmed in the Sunny Slope community. Due to a back injury, Don sold the farm in 1963 and moved to Nampa. He went to work for Triangle Dairy as a rural route delivery driver. The walking was to help his back. After his mother passed away in 1971, they moved back to Sunny Slope to take care of the farm. Don sold the farm and moved to Boise after Rhonda's death in 1998. In 2009 Don moved to Lindon, Utah to live with his daughter Diane and her family. He remained there until November 2018 when it was necessary for him to go to Alpine Valley Care Center. They loved him there, and he always had a smile to share.

Dad was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Mary Haumann, his wife Rhonda, daughter Katherine Stringer, and grandson Brent Williams. Dad is survived by his daughter Diane Williams (John) Lindon, Utah, son Donald D. (Kathy) Meridian, Idaho, 6 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Relyea Funeral Chapel located at 318 North Latah, Boise, Idaho. A viewing will begin at 10:00 AM prior to the funeral. Interment will be at Hill Crest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell, Idaho.

As a family we would like to thank the wonderful staff at Intermountain Home Health Care and Hospice, and the staff at Alpine Valley Care Center where Dad was so lovingly cared for. We so appreciate your kindness.
