Donald Roland Call, 64, passed away July 10, 2015 in Ogden, Utah from complications of a heart attack. He was born June 10, 1951 in Afton, Wyoming to Lee Roland and Jessie Newswander Call. Don served an honorable LDS mission in Arizona and Oregon, after which he attended Utah Technical College in Provo and graduated with his Associate's Degree in Graphic Communications. He married Susan Randall on June 20, 1975 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were later divorced.
Don owned and operated Western Wyoming Printing in Afton for 12 years. He continued his career as a talented pressman at Utah State University in Logan, Utah for 13 years and later retired from PrintStar in Afton.
Don was an avid hiker and hiked to the star on Star Hill over 500 times within two years. He loved adventure and the outdoors. He rode his motorcycle and hiked all over the mountains of Star Valley. Don was the Scoutmaster of the Afton 1st Ward for 14 years. His passion for the outdoors helped influence the lives of the scouts he lead. He also served as second counselor in the bishopric.
Don is survived by his mother, Jessie Call; daughter, Tiffany (Kent) Averett, Parker, Colorado; sons, Jordan (Rebekah); and Dallin (Kylie), both of Logan, Utah; six grandchildren, Krew, Beckham and Berlynn Averett (Tiffany); Hadley and Arabella Call (Jordan); Korver Don Call (Dallin); brothers, Richard, Jeff (Mona), and Kendell; and a sister, Annette (Rusty) Heiner. Preceded in death by a son, Tyler; his father, Lee R. Call; sister-in-law, Linda Call; and nephew, Griffin Call.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Afton Tabernacle, and burial was in the Afton Cemetery.
