Don Allen Clark

Don Allen Clark, 48, of Midvale, dropped his trailer and set his airbrakes for the last time on September 16, 2016, due to undiagnosed heart issues.

Don was born October 1, 1967 to Larry Clark and Marlene Noorda in Murray, Utah.

Don was married as a young adult which later ended in divorce. After his divorce, he married the love of his life, Virginia (Ginny) Clark in Lacey, Washington, October 11, 2012, and at the time of his passing was secretly planning activities for their 4th wedding anniversary.

Don was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, in the Holladay Congregation.

Don was a truck driver and took pride in doing his job well. He loved being in his truck most days. He had a dedicated route that allowed him to be home 5 nights a week. He loved audio books and would go through 2 or 3 a week to pass the time on the road. He had a standing phone call on the nights he was out of town at 5 pm with his wife that helped keep them connected.

His fellow drivers and customers will miss him tremendously. Special thanks to his Boss Kim and his wife Tammy for opening up their hearts and office to the whole family so that we could work with the paramedics and medical examiner while they took care of Don.

During the winter months, Don drove part time for Alta Shuttle, taking guests to and from the local ski resorts. He loved the extra cash in his pocket and we benefited from the extra income for vacations and special things we were saving for. He will leave a hole in their offices this winter.

Don also was a mechanic on the weekends when he had time, he often traded electrical/plumbing/yard work or other stuff he needed done while he was out on the road for mechanic work. We will all miss our personal mechanic that kept us all on the roads with reliable cars.

Don had many nieces and nephews and they looked up to Uncle Donny for advice and support. They will miss the special bond he had with them and the time he made for each and every one. Each one of them have reached out to Aunt Ginny to share special memories they had.

Don made time in his busy schedule to attend his religious meetings and serve in any capacity needed in his congregation.

Don had a way of making every person he came in contact with a friend right off the bat. People were just not strangers to him after a first meeting and they quickly became lifelong friends. Don's straight forward way of speaking and offering advice will be missed.

Don is survived by his wife Virginia K Clark and step son, Jason T Williams.

Also survived by parents Larry and Saundra Clark of Otis, OR; Marlene Noorda (Dan-deceased) of Delta, UT; siblings Nikki Lyons, Gilbert, AZ., Julie Mays (Gerald), Joel Clark, Jacob Clark, all of Otis, OR; Kris Kelly, Beaverton, OR, and his step brother John Noorda, of Salt Lake City, UT, whom he had a very special bond with.

Don was cremated earlier this week and a memorial service will be held for him at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State St., Midvale, UT, on Saturday, September 24. Open house style visitation with his family starts at 3 pm, service to follow about 4.
