Dennis Mont Worwood passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 20th, 2023. He was reunited with his daughter Tina, his parents and his youngest brother. Dennis was the oldest of 5 children born to Karl Noel Worwood and Marilyn Faye Williams in Nephi, Utah on January 16th, 1953. He spent his childhood years in Levan and then started his career in the construction field after graduating in 1971. It didn’t take long for Dennis to be recognized as the hard worker he was. He was promoted to Superintendent over many of the jobs he worked on.
His work took him all over Utah, Colorado and California. He had the opportunity to work for L.A. Young, S&W Construction, W.W. Clyde & Sons, HaJaco, Torno America and Meadow Valley. Many of these jobs he worked alongside his dad Karl and his brothers Mitch and Craig.
Dennis was known to be one of the best operators around. There wasn’t a piece of equipment that he couldn’t operate. He made many friends on the road. He was well known and looked up to in the Construction World.
Dad retired in 2011 and enjoyed his quiet life in Levan. He enjoyed tinkering on his equipment and could fix anything. He was all over town on his little blue tractor. If he saw someone who needed a garden plowed or snow pushed he was glad to stop by and help. His favorite pastime was to grade his drive way and keep things looking neat and organized in his garage. Dad had just about everything and if he didn’t have it, you didn’t need it.
The last few years he spent helping a good friend with his farm and keeping the equipment going. He enjoyed his cows and would go around town picking up apples or going to the dump for old vegetables…he didn’t think hay or pasture was good enough. His day wasn’t finished unless he got 10-12 hours in, it didn’t matter rain or shine.
Dad enjoyed riding his “buggy,” camping and fishing with Jill and the grandkids. He always kept everyone entertained with his smart remarks and could turn a bad fishing trip into an eventful day. He had a big heart and would give the shirt off back to anyone who needed it. He is going to be missed by so many.
He is survived by his sweetheart Jill Keuhnl, his 3 sons Jason (Amberlee), Travis (Jennifer), Riley (Jennie), his 11 grandchildren, his 5 great grandchildren with 1 on the way, his sisters Carla (Jerry) Kendall, Linda (Gary) Smith, brother Mitchell Worwood, and sister-in-law Karen Worwood.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Tina Ballow, his parents, and his brother Craig Worwood.
Graveside services were held August 23, 2023 at the Levan Cemetery.
