On Saturday, March 20, 2021, Debra (Debbie), our beloved sister and aunt passed away at the age of 65. We know she was so happy to be reunited with her mom and dad, who she loved very deeply. Debbie was born in Murray, Utah on October 26, 1955 to Orvill and Shirley Ostler. Debbie was a very dedicated and loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was fiercely loyal to her family and loved spending as much time as she could with them.
Ever since she was a little girl, Debbie loved everything about being in nature. Some of her favorite memories were riding horses with siblings and extended family. Her favorite family vacations were camping in the mountains and going on exciting adventures on the 4-wheelers. She loved the beautiful earth that was created and contributing to the beauty where she could. Her most therapeutic hours were doing yard work and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a very hard worker, loved having projects and always accomplished what she put her mind to.
Even though she would deny it, Debbie had many incredible talents. She was an amazing artist and could create masterpieces out of any medium. She loved to draw, paint and work her magic with wood. She could design anything she had in her mind and turn trash into treasure. She also was an excellent cook and made the most delicious meals. Her favorite thing was having her family gathered around her where she had prepared a feast for all. If she knew you would be attending a meal, she was sure to make your favorite dish, just to show how much she loved you.
Debbie took every one of her roles seriously, but she absolutely loved being an aunt. She treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. Aunt Debbie always tried to show how tough she was, but everyone knew she had the most kind and gentle heart. Our family has been so blessed to have her as our sister and aunt, and we will miss her dearly.
Debbie is proceeded in death by her father Orvill, mother Shirley, sister-in-law Clare and nephew Paul. She is survived by siblings Lynn (Clare), Denise, Brent (Teresa), Robert (Dawn), David, Kevin (Linda) and Lori (Gary) and many nephews and nieces.
A private family funeral will be held on Friday, March 26th; interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
