West Jordan. Utah-Debra Jeanette Hilton Buchanan, 67, passed away after a tragic accident on October 1, 2021. Debi was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by many people.
Debi was born in Salt Lake City on July 4th, 1954, to Allen and Clara Hilton. She was the youngest of 3 children. She is now enjoying a wonderful reunion with her parents and friends who have gone before. She married the love of her life, Warren, on February 8, 1978, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Debi loved spending time with her family, camping, fishing, going to plays, and square dancing.
Debi was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held several callings in the church, of which her favorite was teaching the Sunbeam class in Primary. She was an ordinance worker in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. She loved serving in this holy place. She felt so close to God in the temple. She would always share experiences that she had on her shift when she came home. She loved learning about the gospel, studying her scriptures, and listening to church songs and conference talks.
She loved to sew and make things for others. Her mother taught her this skill and she would always say "I'm going to ask her why she did things this way." Now she has the chance to ask her mom all the questions she has.
Debi was a Christlike individual. She was happiest surrounded by children. That's why she loved teaching primary. She especially loved having her grandchildren around her. She loved playing with and teaching them the things that were special to her.
Debi is preceded in death by her mother, Clara, her father, Allen and sister-in-law, Cheryl. She is survived by her loving husband, Warren, daughter Jeanette, son Blake, and 4 wonderful grandchildren, Tyler, Brooklyn, Corbyn, and Zoey, her brother Bruce Hilton, and sister Nancy (Ron) Clyde.
