Debbie Lynn Parkin, 58, passed away in her home on Friday, September 20, 2024 in Murray, Utah. Debbie was born on August 1, 1966, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Robert Holt and Hazel Laird.
Debbie was known for her deep empathy, radiant heart, fierce protection and unconditional love for her family, especially her devoted husband, cherished daughters, beloved grandchildren, and fur babies. Her connection with her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured those relationships with endless affection and care. Debbie had a remarkable talent for bringing beauty to everything she touched—whether it was cultivating her thriving garden, cooking meals from scratch with an extra dash of love, or in the many crafts and hobbies she embraced with her heart and soul. She had a gift for transforming ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, leaving an unforgettable mark on all who experienced them.
Debbie’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. She created countless magical moments with them, from spontaneous dance parties to baking desserts or sneaking massive amounts of candy, and indulging in sweet treats that were often delivered right to their doorstep. Whether planning makeup parties or enjoying online shopping sprees with them, Debbie’s childlike wonder and zest for life shone brightly in every aspect of her time with her family. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and she brought fun and laughter to everyone around her.
Her heart of gold extended beyond her immediate circle. Debbie was always ready to help those in need, whether they were human or animal. She had an incredible bond with her fur babies, who never left her side, finding comfort in her warmth and love. Her kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many, and her home was a sanctuary where all felt welcomed and supported
Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Cory Parkin; her two beloved daughters, Stephanie Niche’le Jimenez (husband David Jimenez) and Whitney Laken Parkin (husband Jeremy Lehmann); her treasured grandchildren, Hailey (16), Salem (Chloe) (16), Kelsie (13), Ashley (8), and Jackson (7); and numerous dear friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Holt and Hazel Laird, and her grandparents, Julia and Vern Laird, and Robert and Johanna Holt.
A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 12:00 PM, with a viewing one hour prior to services at the LDS Church, located at 11420 South 700 West in Draper, UT. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her beautiful legacy.
Debbie’s bright light, beautiful spirit, and unwavering love will forever be remembered and deeply missed by her family and all who were lucky enough to know her. “Debbie, you are truly loved and missed.”
