Day €Œnewelly†Leroy Newell

Day LeRoy Newell, 82, of Mona, UT passed away peacefully on March 19, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born on June 7, 1937 to Harry K. and Shirley Ellertson Newell in Spanish Fork, UT.

He graduated from Juab High School in 1955. After graduation he was called to serve a mission in California in 1956.

He was drafted into the US Army in 1960. While in the military he served in Korea for 2 tours and Vietnam for 3 tours. He shared many stories of his years in the military with his family that we will cherish forever.

On May 16, 1977 he married Marolyn and became an instant Daddy to 3 little girls whom he loved dearly. He was the "Daddy that didn't have to be!"

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings throughout his life.

After his retirement from the Army he continued his education to become an electrician working for companies that took him to many states traveling the Western United States. He made many friends and co-workers as he traveled which he never forgot.

During his retirement years he worked for Juab School District as a groundskeeper/maintenance worker.

Day loved life and was a friend to anyone he came in contact with.

He was preceded in death by both parents and his loving sister Teresa Newell Jacobsen.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Marolyn of Mona, his daughters, Charlotte Kay (Drew) of Mona, Donna Wright (Kamron) of Nephi, Franki Newton (Gary) of Mona, his many grandkids Layne Kay (Emily), Tristan Memmott (Rex), Dayna Ferguson (Casey), Tayzia Jensen (Wes), Hailey White (Braydon), Kaytie Oliver (Zac), Jayce Newton, Justin Newton, Easton Wright, and Daymon Wright, 15 great-grandkids, Trey, Wylee, Ryah, Mashayle, Swasey, Brigston, Stratton, Bellamy, Kayson, Matlyn, Ridge, Remi, Presley, Taycen, Ruby, and Lucy.
