David Ernest Shelby

To a man of honor, integrity, generosity, and love, we sadly say farewell. Dave was the husband of Marion, dad of LeAnne, Douglas (Regan), Alan, and Yvette (Jon Pegue), grandpa of Brian (Meghan), John, Kimberly, and Dayna, great-grandpa of Samantha, Macy, and Emma.

Dave was born of poor means in Brigham City on November 2, 1923. He began working at the age of 13 and never quit. He graduated from the University of Utah, served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and as mayor of Sandy. He was a successful real estate broker and insurance agent. His later years were filled with farming and animals, especially his German Shepherd. At his request, he wanted nothing fancy. Please, no flowers.

Graveside service will be held on what would have been his 95th birthday, November 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 S. Camp Williams Road in Bluffdale.
