David Joseph Robbins joined his heavenly family on June 5, 2018. He was born in Minot, North Dakota on December 10, 1942 to Charles Albert and Lillian Geneva Robbins. Dave was raised on the family farm where he learned the value of hard work. In 1960, Dave joined the U.S. Navy. He loved his years of service and talked of them often. He was very proud when his grandson, Kwaylon, entered the military service.
On June 2, 1967 Dave married his true love, Pamela Wilde. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple on June 7, 1968. Dave and Pam were blessed with five sons; Russell, Ronald, Randee, Rodney and Ryland.
Dave worked at UDOT, Marquart and Devils Slide Cement Plant. There wasn't a better heavy equipment mechanic. If Dave wasn't fixing heavy equipment, he was helping a stranded motorist or neighbor with their cars.
Dave enjoyed old country music, western movies, trips to North Dakota and Alaska and camping and hunting with his family. He especially loved the time spent with his grandchildren. Dave was everyone's friend, many of them he met among his travels. He was aways happy to talk about his beloved Ford truck, "Betsy."
Later in life, Dave struggled with diabetes, heart complications and Alzheimers. He had wonderful caregivers at the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home. A special thanks to Bristol Hospice Care.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Pamela, five sons, Russell (Jennifer), Wasilla AK, Ronald (Tori), Lyman WY, Randee (Collette), Evanston WY, Rodney (Camellia), Coalville UT, and Ryland (Chelsea), Henefer UT, 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and sisters-in-law Sharon (Gary) Pace and DiAnn (Bill) Staples.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters Carol Nightengale (John) and Grace Denton (John), his brother Charles "Chuck" Robbins, in-laws Lloyd and Mary Wilde, and sister-in-law Connie Carter (Vernal).
Funeral services will be held in the Henefer 1st Ward Chapel at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. Viewing will be held on Monday evening, June 11 from 6-8 PM and from 9:45-10:45 AM prior to the funeral service Tuesday.
