David Squire Bastian

Our wonderful and precious brother, David Squire Bastian, passed away on April 9, 2016, at his home in Midvale, UT. He was the son of Elmer P. Bastian and Margaret Squire Bastian, and the brother of Mary Bastian and Emily Bastian Markham. David was born August 11, 1944. David died of complications from Parkinson's disease with Lewy body dementia.

He graduated from Jordan High School in 1962. He was a farmer and rancher his entire life. With only a few exceptions, he loved every minute of his profession. He did spend time in the military and always said this would have been his next choice as a career. David was rich in friends, loved by his family, and he valued everyone. He had a kind and gentle spirit.

The Bastian family would like to give special thanks to Doug Young, Richard Day and the Squire family for their help during this difficult time. No flowers please. Give to your favorite charity or Parkinson's Research if so inclined.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 13, at 11:30 a.m. at the West Jordan City Cemetery, 7800 S. 1300 W. There will be a short viewing Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. for family and friends at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale.
