Today, April 20, 2019, a beautiful soul has left this mortal life. Darrell J. Wright was born October 19, 1941 to Jesse G. and Euphemia Faye McQueen Wright. He was married to Carolyn Brenkmann, who he met on a blind date, and eloped after 1 week and 3 days. Through this union they had a son and daughter Kelly J. Wright and Peggy Sue, and a chosen son Nathan Wright, 6 grandchildren Trevor, Amberly, Shannel, DJ, Dylon and Dakota, 10 great-grandchildren Drake, Korbyn, Daxtyn, Jace, Treyton, Cienna, Alexander, Deagan, Cainsley, Brooklyn, and two bonus grandsons Brodee and Rhyse.
Butch was an avid motorcycle racer 1959-1961. His most cherished possession from those days is his Season Top Point Man trophy.
He has always had a love of Harleys and loved to ride with his many Special Sons, who have looked up to him, and he admired. Butch and Carolyn owned and operated Wright Trucking, Inc., the shiniest red trucks to roll down the highways. Friends and neighbors always admired watching them roll out every Sunday and Wednesday, rain, snow, sleet or sun, they always went out sparkling.
He also enjoyed boating, fishing, hiking, RVing and hanging with our special friends in Algodones and drinking strawberry Margaritas. Throughout his years, whether school, racing, trucking or his many other activities, he was admired by all who knew him for his work ethics and honesty.
Although you have taken our empty hearts with you, we will fill them up with all the memories you have left us with. Your legacy will live on forever.
Preceded in death by his mother and father, and a special nephew Dee Higley. Survived by wife of 59 years Carolyn Mae B. Wright, son Kelly (Misty) Wright, daughter Peggy Sue (Rob) Ridley, and special son Nathan (Patricia), 2 sisters Geraldine Higley (Monte Higley), and Louise Pace and DA, sister-in-law Sherilyn Griffiths and Henry, brother-in-law Raymond Brenkmann, and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.
Please dress casual. Anything Harley Davidson welcome. And a special thanks to all of those guys who enjoyed being with him on rides, burgers and beers.
In lieu of flowers, gather your family for a beautiful Sunday dinner with your family, and cherish your time as he did his, or donate to your favorite charity or to your local missionary fund.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at the Hoytsville LDS Ward, 1095 S. Hoytsville Road. There will be viewings Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Hoytsvile, Utah Cemetery.
