Darlene Fowkes

Darlene Fowkes, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, passed away on June 3, 2017, at 90 years of age in Nephi, Utah.

Darlene was born June 4, 1926 in Santaquin, Utah to James William Greenhalgh and Ida Tew Greenhalgh. She was the 6th child of 8 children. Darlene married L. Earl Fowkes June 4, 1945 in the Manti, Utah LDS temple.

Darlene loved her family very much. Her and Earl's greatest desire was to have their children and posterity with them for eternity. She loved the Savior and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully. She served in many ward and stake callings.

She loved music and served as a ward organist for many years. She also participated in a Relief Society Choir in 1977 that sang in the tabernacle in Salt Lake City, Utah at the General Relief Society meeting. Darlene had a deep love for Mona. She served on the city council for 10 years. Before that, she served on the town cleanup committee. She worked 12 years as the deputy Juab county recorder.

She is survived by a sister Marie Peterson of Toquerville, Utah. Also, her six children, Tom (Elizabeth), Dale (Donnalyn), Nancy, Glen (Bonnie) all of Mona, Wayne of Houston, TX and Grant (Denise) of Sevier, Utah.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 11 am at the Mona First Ward Chapel at 35 E. 100 N. Mona, Utah. There will be a viewing for family and friends, Wednesday evening, 6:30 pm to 8 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W. 300 N. Nephi, Utah and Thursday morning from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Mona chapel. Interment will be in the Mona City Cemetery.

A special thanks to Red Cliffs Assisted living for the incredible care and love they gave to Darlene during the golden years of her life.
