Dariusz Jozef Sulich

Dariusz (Darek) Jozef Sulich was born February 19, 1959 to Helena and Jozef Sulich in Warsaw, Poland. The oldest of three children, Darek loved sharing stories of his brothers Andrzejs and Wojciech and their time spent in the Polish countryside at their family farm. From an early age Darek was a natural fighter. Through his teens, his talents were honed and Darek became an exemplary wrestler. Dareks skill eventually led to multiple National, European and Olympic titles in wrestling. Although his wrestling career afforded Darek the incredible opportunity of travelling the world, he always found time to enjoy the smaller things in life. Between hours of practice with his teammates, Darek enjoyed the disco-techs and his music; his favorite artists were Donna Summer, Queen and Pink Floyd. On January 2, 1980, Darek won his most prestigious title, Father, when he welcomed his Daughter, Joanna Sulich into the world. In the early 80s Darek moved to Utah to seek new opportunities. Darek quickly fell in love with Utahs lakes and streams where he became a gifted fisherman. When not fishing, Darek made a living as a handyman who could fix anything. It was during the course of his work that he met and married his wife, Karen Jensen. Darek and Karen had 2 sons, Brandon and Krystian Sulich. To help support his children, Darek took a job at the Sandy City Parks Department where hes remembered as a great friend with a strong work ethic. Retaining strong ties to his Polish background, Darek chaired RAZEM Utah, a community group dedicated to celebrating the traditions and culture of Polish heritage. His brilliant personality allowed him to make friends wherever he was. After decades of selflessly caring for his family, Darek took his first vacation with friends to Mexico. Dareks last days were some of his best, spent in the sand and sun with a cold beer in his hand. Darek is survived by his 3 children Joanna, Brandon and Krystian, his Mother, Helena Sikorska, and his 2 brothers Andrzej and Wojciech. Hes also survived by aunts, nieces and nephews. Despite all of his accomplishments, Darek was most proud of his children. To his friends, Darek will be remembered for his humor, his honesty and his unwavering loyalty. To his family, Darek is remembered for his unconditional support and love. Services will be held on April 6th, 10:00am at St. Ambrose Church (2315 S Redondo Ave), followed By the graveside services at the Sandy City Cemetery (9000 S 700 E)
