Danuel Lynn Christie, beloved father, husband, brother, and son, passed away at age 55 after a 7-year battle with colon cancer. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 8, 2018. He was the husband of Lisa Christie, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage. He was born in Kittanning, PA on June 14, 1963, to Irmgard Wallis and Edward Christie.
He was respected, revered, and loved by all who knew him. His inspirational example will always be a constant presence in our lives. He had true courage and fought his battle stoically. He accepted his fate with such grace and never complained or victimized himself.
Dan had a love for life and an adventurous spirit. His favorite thing to do was go on vacation in his motorhome with his wife and kids. Lake Powell was a yearly vacation and he loved boating and exploring the canyons. He always loved four wheeling and dirt biking; he went every chance that he could. He was passionate about motorcycles and eventually got a BMW "adventure" bike of his own. He loved that bike and was able to explore many places with it. Another one of his passions was football, particularly the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a true fan and almost never missed a game. His eyes lit up when he was watching football and he would cheer and proudly wave his Terrible Towel.
Dan's diagnosis of cancer changed him; it challenged him to live more fully, more alive, and to make sure to take advantage of the time he had left. He didn't have time for bad days, he was too busy soaking up what time he had left to live. He was an honest, genuine, hard-working man and left a positive, lasting impression on all who knew him. He was a great family man who always made sure that his girls were taken care of.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by Lisa Christie, his wife, his two daughters, Kali Christie and Dayna Hamilton, son-in-law, Riley Hamilton, and his two younger sisters, Debbie Fryer and Deanna Christie.
