Danny Mitchell Clegg passed away, suddenly but peacefully, at his home in Coalville, Utah on October 1, 2018. Danny was born on January 8, 1951 to Harold 'Hap' Clegg and Norma Mitchell Clegg. He grew up in Marion, Utah and was a graduate of South Summit High School. As a youth, he enjoyed the outdoors, riding horses, spending time with his brothers and sports. After graduation, he attended Weber State University and was a member of their basketball team. He married Georgia Snyder on April 22, 1978.
As a young adult, he worked for rodeo stock contractor Gerald Young, which inspired him to, with the help of his parents and brothers, start his own rodeo stock contracting business, Clegg Championship Rodeo. This provide many wonderful experiences and memories for he and his family. The business was successful and Danny was fortunate to own and raise many award winning animals. He met some of his very best friends through his travels. He retired from the rodeo business a few years ago but continued to enjoy employment driving dump truck for Extreme Excavating. He loved going to work and teasing his co-workers. Danny loved animals and could always be found working on various projects around the family ranch. He passed this love of livestock and work ethic on to his children and all his grandchildren. He was the greatest grandfather to his six grandchildren and supported them in all of their endeavors.
Although Danny suffered with health problems, he was always a fighter and maintained a positive attitude despite his struggles. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law (Deborah) and niece (Danielle). He is survived by many family members and friends, specifically his wife (Georgia), in-laws (Ivan and Valeen Scovil), brothers and sister-in-laws (Jack and Darlene Clegg, Mick and Jeri Sue Clegg, Kelly and Tammy Clegg), children (Trudy Smith and son-in-law Dave, Travis Clegg, Tiffany Myers and son-in-law Nathan). He is the proud grandpa of McKinzie, Allison, Emily and Garrett Smith, Marnee and Zoee Myers.
