Dan Edward Whetman

Dan Edward Whetman was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Dora Irene and Lawrence Abraham Whetman. He passed away on October 16th, 2022 peacefully with his family by his side.

Dan graduated from Jordan High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Sherry Carter. They were married October 9th, 1962 in Sandy, Utah.

Dan worked for Kennecott Copper as a welder and truck driver, where he retired after 36 years.

Dan was an amazing father to his two daughters, Christy and Susan of which gave him five beautiful grandchildren and later, 11 great grandchildren - whom he called his Treasures in life. He will always be looking down on them and helping guide them through their lives.

Dan was always the nicest guy on Earth! He was always the first to help and would give the shirt off his back. If there was a car on the side of the road, you could bet he was there helping them.

Dan would even be there if you happened to get your fingers tangled in the mixer.

Dan would never get mad if his dessert was missing from his lunch at work, because he knew it had been eaten the night before.

He loved his yard, especially his vegetable garden and roses.

Dan has left us, but will be in our hearts forever. Say hello to Grandma and Grandpa for us.

Dan is survived by his wife, Sherry and their two daughters Christy and Susan. He’s also survived by his sister Judy (Rocky), five grandchildren – Brittany, Ashley, Andrew, Meagan and Payton and his 11 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother Dora Irene Whetman and his father, Lawrence Abraham Whetman along with his brothers David Lawrence Whetman and Benjamin James Whetman.
