Craig Verl Weight passed away peacefully in his home, after a battle of colon cancer, in Mona, Utah, on September 4, 2017, at the age of 54. Craig was born December 5, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah to LaVar Weight and Shirlene Buxton Peterson. He graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1981. He served an LDS Mission in Toronto, Canada. He married his high school sweet heart, Tami Njord, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 21st, 1984. He enjoyed working in the grocery business, driving delivery trucks, and working in the heating and air conditioning industry. He was employed by Skylake Heating Venting and Air Conditioning at the time of his passing. The most important things to Craig were his family, and serving in the LDS Church. Many may know him as Bishop Weight of the Mona 3rd Ward and he has recently been serving on the Stake High Council. He enjoyed being outside, camping, 4-wheeling, and visiting with his family and friends.
Craig is survived by his wife Tami, his son Ryan (Melanie) Weight, his daughter Chelsey (Russ) Forsyth, and his treasured grandsons, Elliott and Sawyer Forsyth, and Bentley Weight. Also by his parents, brothers, sister, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
The funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11:00 am (with a viewing one hour prior to the services). A viewing will also be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. All services will be held at the Mona 3rd-4th Ward LDS Chapel on 65 West 800 South, Mona, Utah. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Craig's life.
