Christine Lee Erickson-Sperry

Our Beloved Christine Lee Erickson-Sperry passed away on December 10, 2021 at 12:00 pm in Salt Lake City, Utah. Christine was born on October 13, 1955 in Salt Lake City, UT to Andrew and Doris Stevens. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to so many others.

Christine is an amazing, strong, and fierce woman. She was a young single mother for many years who worked at Kennecott Utah Copper Smelter to provide for her 2 children. Starting out on a jack hammer she then worked her way up the ladder to be one of the few female bosses. She then moved on to work 19 years at Sysco Intermountain in the Warehouse/Parts Department. This woman was no stranger to hard work.

Her 2 proudest achievements were her children, Tony and Charo. They were her light when it was dark. Charo was her best friend they talked on the phone multiple times a day, shopping trips, lunch dates, vacations. Whenever Charo was having a bad day, she would call up her mom and her mom would brighten her day. Christine would call and sing it's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood to Charo and her grandson Eloy on their way to school.

Christine married the love of her life Randy on April 14, 2014 finally after 20 years "just to make sure." They had a mutual love of the Utah Jazz. They held season tickets for many many years. They also enjoyed playing a few rounds of golf, Kismet, Rummy, other board games, and just being with family.

Christine is survived by her husband Randy Sperry, sons: Tony Lucero, Jeff Callahan, daughters: Charo Lucero, Wendee Carter (Rick), grandchildren: Jordan, Jessica, Eloy Jake, Madison, Cade, Mckayla, Hannah, Adelynn, Noah, great granddaughter: Jazmyn, brothers: Craig Stevens, Mark Stevens (Kim), numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

"You never said I'm leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knew why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home." Author Unknown.
