Midvale, Utah-Chris Ballamis was born on October 10, 1932 to Louis E. Ballamis and Gladys Pederson in Bingham Canyon, Utah. He passed away at the family home on December 30, 2015.
Uncle Chris was a true Bingham Miner. After attending school and playing sports at Bingham schools, he joined the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. Following his military service he returned home to Bingham and worked for Kennecott Copper following in the footsteps of his father and two brothers. He retired from Kennecott Copper in 1985.
Although Chris lived quite modestly, he enjoyed helping anyone, whether they were family members or otherwise. Everyone who knew him called him "Uncle Chris." He is the best uncle his nieces and nephews could have had. He never missed one of their school programs or ballgames, for he was their biggest fan. They all loved him for his support and kindness. He will be missed by all who knew him. Chris leaves a legacy as a frugal, soft spoken, kind uncle who in his own way, loved all who called him "Uncle Chris."
He is survived by his sister Linda Ballamis Stepan (Keith), and his many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by parents and his siblings, Ernest, Vivian, James, Louise and Elaine.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State St. in Midvale, Utah.
A big thank you is sincerely expressed to the staff and patients at South Valley Dialysis for four years of kind care and effective medical care.
