Charmaine Smith

Charmaine Smith of West Jordan, Utah passed away on February 6, 2025. Charmaine was born February 10, 1936 in West Jordan, Utah to loving parents, John W. Smith and Fedora Mousley Smith. 

Charmaine grew up in West Jordan, Utah with her two brothers John and Ralph Smith. Charmaine attended Jordan High School before going to work at Utah Power and Light for over 40 years. 

As a young girl she suffered a terrible accident that changed the course of her life. However, she never let her accident stop her from having a happy and fulfilling life. To quote Charmaine, “If I pitied myself all the time, I wouldn’t find happiness. Never pity yourself, always look on the bright side of life.”

Charmaine was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Family meant everything to her. She was a wonderful daughter, sister and aunt and was always looking after her family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and her nephew Michael Smith. She is survived by her nephews Chase Smith and Cliff Smith and her nieces Susan Cutler-Barnhart and Christine Smith. She also leaves behind cousins Margie Adams and Sharon Snyder. Special thanks is extended to her good friends Larry and Tammy Phelps.

An evening viewing will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S State Street in Midvale. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Jordan Chapel located at 8825 S 1095 W, West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. We invite all who knew and loved Charmaine to join us in honoring her legacy and sharing cherished memories. Charmaine will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
