Charles Lamar Tolley, age 90, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2022 in Nephi, Utah from natural causes.
He was born on July 23, 1932 to Rex Leland and Gladys Preal Kendall Tolley in Nephi, Utah.
Charles grew up in Nephi where he married his high school sweetheart, Iris Park Tolley. They were married on September 12, 1952, after Charles returned from service in the Army during the Korean War.
Charles worked for Utah State Department of Transportation, and was able to retire at age 52. He served as a volunteer for the fire department and in leadership for the Jaycees Club in Orem. Charles enjoyed many years of camping with his family and friends. Every trip was filled with joy and adventure. Charles and Iris later moved down to Washington, UT until the death of Iris, where he moved back to his roots in Nephi.
Charles will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Charles is survived by his three sons: Mark (Judy), David, Russell (Kimberlee), and one daughter Dianne (Blaine) Nelson, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He is survived by one sister, Susan (Karl) Pew.
He is preceded in death by his wife and parents, also by his brother: Fred Maurice Tolley, sister-in-law: JoAnn Tolley, sister: Beth Burton and granddaughter: Michelle Tolley.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3rd from 10:00 - 10:45 am, and following at 11:00 am, a small memorial service will be held at Cinder Creek Event Center on 22 Sheep Lane Drive, Nephi, UT. Interment will be at Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.
