Michael was born August 29th, 1971 in Nephi, Utah to Charles Harry and Phyllis Haycock Parkin. He was raised in Nephi and received his elementary and secondary education in the Nephi school system, often praising numerous teachers who impacted his life for good; notably: Betty Mickelson, Eddes Johnson, Nancy Zoulek, and Loreta Wicker. He excelled in scholastics, band, and other endeavors - being an English Sterling Scholar, member of the National Honor Society, Band President, and Yearbook Editor during his high school years. Michael loved spending time with and learning in the shadows of his grandparents: the late John and Florence Parkin, and G. Alma and Doris Haycock, all of Nephi.
