Charles (86) passed peacefully away at home, where he wanted to be on the morning of December 22 in Nephi, UT.
He was born February 20, 1934 in Santaquin, UT to Wilford Vincent and Rhoda Marietta Brewer. He married Wilda Jeanne Nilges on March 25, 1956 in Denver, CO. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
He joined the Air Force at age 20 and served for 20 years. He then worked for the Nebo School District for another 18 years as a custodian.
Charles loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, traveling and especially loved doing so with his family.
With his wife, they were members of the Good Sam Club for many years, some serving as state officers. They were also "Snowbirds" traveling to Yuma and Quartzite, AZ several years as well. They developed many dear friendships.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
When Charles was born, he already had a big brother, Wilford (Junior) and sister Betty. Their father was killed when he was three, his little sister Carol Lee was born five months later. His mother remarried William Newell eight years later and the family added another little sister Marla Jean and brother William (Billy).
He attended schools in Juab.
While serving in the Air Force in Denver, he met the love of his life and eternal companion, Wilda Jeanne Nilges. Together they raised three wonderful children. They have lived their lives happily. Charles is truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Wilda Jeanne and their children, Debi (Ken), Tridell, Robert (Heide), Mona, and Daryl (Cathy), Logan, his sister Marla Jean (Gary), Mona, and sister-in-law Marie (Wilford-deceased), Delta, CO. He is loved by 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and counting. He is also survived by his fur buddy Dixie.
There will be a viewing Tuesday, December 29 from 11 to 11:45 am, with a family service at 12 Noon at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North in Nephi. Graveside services will be held at the Santaquin Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
