Chahaley Deeann Atwood

Obituary
Chahaley DeeAnn Atwood, 29, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at her home. She was born on
June 27, 1990 in Sandy, Utah, to “Red” Gaylan Ray Atwood and Cheri Lee Pearson Rios.
Haley’s younger years were spent in Utah. When she was a teenager she moved to Olympia Washington
where she graduated from High School. She later moved back to Utah. She was an Assistant Manager for
Shell Gas Station where she was a hardworking and loyal employee. She was a person that everyone could
depend on.
She had a love for animals and especially loved her chinchilla, Craig. Haley had a gift to express herself in
the meaningful and fun art of memes. She was such a generous person and was always taking care of
everyone else. Haley was beyond kind and generous.
Family was Haley’s priority. She had a trusted confidant and friend in her cousin Nikki. They were
inseparable.
She was a devoted wife and mother. Haley and Kage met at a New Year’s Eve party on December 31, 2012.
There was definitely a spark but no kiss. Within a month they were madly in love. Kage soon got to know
her daughter Alicia who asked him to be her daddy when she was six years old. On October 25, 2013 Haley
gave birth to their son Xander and their little family was complete.
As time went on, Kage and Haley grew closer to each other and felt they wanted to marry. Although they
never married, they sure acted like an old married couple. In the end, Kage loved Haley as a wife, mother
and best friend.
Haley had a special relationship with her mother, and they were best of friends. They would hang out
together every Friday and she went to family Sunday dinner every week. No matter how they spent their
time together, whether it was shopping or just visiting, they loved each moment. They were each other’s
strength.
She was what her mother had to look forward to at the end of the week and that will be missed. They
never left each other without a hug and saying love you, see you later.
Haley is survived by her loving husband, Kage Ashby; daughter, Alicia Pineda; son, Xander Ashby; father,
Red Atwood; mother, Cheri Pearson Rios; siblings, Holly Atwood, Richard Atwood, Anna Rios, Robby
Withington and Miguel Hernandez Rios; grandparents, Leslie Atwood & Virlene Gregson and Michael &
Virginia Pearson; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her uncle and aunt, Jeremy & Tammy Atwood; nephew, Alex Xander Tyson
James; niece, Kylie Hannah Cherilee Miller.
“Haley, there was not enough time with you my darling daughter. I will miss our Friday’s!”
