Chad David Noel, Sr.

Chad David Noel Sr passed away peacefully at his home in Sandy, Utah, on February 18, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer.

Beloved of all who knew him specially his soulmate and eternal companion of nearly fifty-two years Michele Thompson Noel and his five children and their spouses: Chad David Noel Jr, Krysta Deonn Noel Clifford, Isa Marie Noel Connelly, Weston Blane Noel and Cherie Michele Noel Jorgensen. His thirty-five grandchildren adore him. He found great joy in his children and the lives they live. On one occasion soon after they were married Michele asked Chad what he would like on his headstone. He replied, "Here lies a good father and husband".

Chad was born May 30, 1947 in Klamath Falls Oregon, the middle child of Lois Caldwell Noel and Roane Chadwick Noel. He is survived by his older sister Deonn Noel Aldridge and his younger brother Blane Noel.

Michele and Chad raised their children in Southern California and later moved to Maricopa City, Arizona after Chad retired from his professional construction career. Highly respected in his  profession as a master carpenter, Class A and large construction project manager and superintendent. His favorite title was carpenter.

He loved learning and earned a BS degree in Business Management and a BS degree in Psychology. He was an avid student of the scriptures and was daily emersed in his favorite book Jesus the Christ. He was ever a student of the Life of Christ.

He loved missionary work. He served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1966 to 1968 in the then Central States Mission, serving in North and South Dakota, Idaho and Montana.

Chad was drafted into the Army in 1970 just ten months after his marriage to Michele. He is a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War serving honorably, earning a Bronze Star Medal with two commendations for Valor in the field of combat. He achieved the rank of Sergeant during his one year in Vietnam and lead his squad with dignity. His brother's in arms have remained his dear friends through all the post war years.

In 2012 Chad and Michele served a two- and one-half year mission for the LDS Family Services Addiction Recovery Program and remained active in that program for five more years then shortly after retiring in 2017 he and Michele were called to serve a two-year mission in the Hamilton New Zealand Mission where they were directed to continue that remarkable work. They immediately fell in love with the beauty of the Maori people and made many eternal friends there.

Submitting mission papers immediately upon their return from New Zealand they were quickly called to serve two years in the Arizona Tempe Mission where they were blessed to again work in their beloved ARP under the direction of the Mission President. That mission was cut short at nine months due to Chad's cancer diagnosis. Chad's kind manner and deep testimony of the 12-Step program and it's power to bring souls to Jesus Christ endeared him to hundreds of recovery-seeking souls who have remained his brothers in Christ.

He was a gifted artist. He was constantly producing artwork and giving them away. While serving in New Zealand he collected local driftwood and drew Christ in Gethsemane art pieces and gave them to his dear friends. His favorite medium was pencil and pen.

Chad had a calmness about him concerning his abrupt diagnosis. He was at peace through it all, submitting fully to the will of the Lord. In lieu of flowers Chad requests that you consider donating to his favorite charities, St Jude's Hospital for Children or Wounded Warriors.

Chad's viewing will be held at 10:00 A.M. with services at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Anderson and Goff Mortuary (11859 South 700 East, Draper, Utah 84020). He will be interred at the Utah State Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah.
