Mona - Carole "Lorraine" Rostron Pack, 76, passed away Friday, May 18, 2019. She was held by her husband of 54 years and children, both physically and spiritually as she left her broken body and became free to walk again and move without pain.
Lorraine was born to Nancy "Rita" Mathis Rostron and Virgil N. Rostron, September 5, 1942 in Fountain Green, UT. She was raised in Lark, Utah and graduated with Key Club Honors from Bingham High School. She met and married John K Pack in Lark, Utah in November, 1965. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Together, they had four children, which they raised between West Bountiful, Utah and on a dairy farm in Clifton, Idaho. She faithfully served all of her Church callings and had a knack for compassionate service. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (Mt. Nebo Camp) and held various positions within the organization. She worked at Dairy Systems Company in Clifton, Idaho, working accounts receivable for 6 years when she wasn't milking cows and doing various farm chores in addition to raising her children. The family moved to California where she worked and retired from the Ontario Montclair School District after 20 years doing payroll.
After retirement, Mom and Dad returned home to Utah to enjoy their years together in Mona. Mom loved Mt. Nebo covered in snow, watching Dad garden and plant her flowers, cows with their calves in fields, going to the sand dunes, Nascar races, (old) country music, dear friends in her ward, and anytime her children and grandchildren came to visit.
She is survived by her husband, John K. Pack, her four children, Stacey Ann (Roger) Vaughn, Allison Kay Ramirez, Natalie Gay (Richard) Bury, and John David (Katie) Pack; 6 grandchildren: Amanda Jean Newman, Kaylee Raine, and Dallas Antonio Ramirez, John Earl, Welby Ann and Hayes Stirling Pack; step-grandchildren: Zachary Lawrence and Jenna Lynn Bury, and a sister, Helen Gay Rostron Smith. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Harold "Ross" Johansen.
A viewing with be held Tuesday, May 21st, from 6-8 pm at Anderson Funeral Home at 94 W 300 N, Nephi, Utah. Funeral services will be held at Mona 2nd Ward, 65 E 100 N, Mona, Utah, Wednesday, May 22nd at 11 am, with an additional viewing prior at 10 am. Interment and dedication will be held at the Mona Cemetery immediately following services.
