17 grandkids, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter.
He enjoyed the little ones so much.
Carl was born and lived most of his life in Northern Wyoming. As a child he worked on the farm South of Byron on Whistle Creek where his parents grew alfalfa and beans. He graduated from Byron High School and went to college. He worked in the oilfields as a roughneck to pay his way at the University of Wyoming where he earned his Bachelors of Science in Education.
He was a very successful High School football coach and had many conference championships when he coached in Byron and Meeteetse. He enjoyed visits from his former players.
Later in life, he left coaching and became certified in Special Education and taught until his retirement in Moses Lake, Washington.
After retirement he moved back to Byron and enjoyed his horses, dogs and spent time caring for his yard and garden. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV. He followed the Wyoming Cowboys and Gonzaga but any game was acceptable. He also followed and was very proud of his grandkids who were involved in sports across 3 states, Wyoming, Utah and Texas.
He recently moved to Nephi. Although he missed his Byron home, he always stated how glad he was to be near family and enjoyed all the visits from his grandkids. The little ones always put a smile on his face and even got some good chuckles out of him. He was cared for by Laurel Groves Assisted living. We give thanks to the staff there, Dr. Rosenbeck and CVMC for the care he received the last 7 months.
