Cameron Scott Tobon, 20 years old, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017. Cameron was born on October 7, 1997 in Salt Lake City to parents Rashelle Butcher and Victor Tobon. He was kind, compassionate and open-hearted. Remembered especially for his sense of humor, big beautiful smile, and infectious laugh. He was a loyal friend, brother, and son. Intelligent and thoughtful, he was determined to make a difference in the world. Most recently, Cameron had been working as a 911 dispatcher at the Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center with the goal to enter Law Enforcement as a career. He loved music and was a talented, self-taught musician who could often be found singing, writing songs, and strumming his ukulele. He had a knack for bringing a smile to the faces of everyone around him. Most importantly, Cameron was a loving and devoted father whose proudest moment in life was the day his daughter Rashelle was born.
Cameron is preceded in death by all of his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his precious 2-month-old daughter, Rashelle Renée Tobon and Jade Parker, his parents Rashelle and Victor, older brothers Morgan Butcher (spouse Kami and niece Ellie), DeMarco Romero, Victor Alfonso Tobon, younger brother Jordan Tobon, younger sister Jacqueline Tobon, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the family. He was loved and cherished by many and will never be forgotten.
"The world lost a great man today. I am going to miss you so much Cameron. We became closer than ever this past year, and I am so thankful for that. I promise your little girl will always be taken care of and she will know how awesome her dad was. I love you brother and I will see you one day." - Morgan Butcher
"I'll miss you always and forever, Cameron, and I'm glad we got to be best of brother's before you left this world. I love you and can't wait to get that big hug that you always gave, and see your beautiful smile again. Until next time big little brother ðŸ-¤" - DeMarco Romero
"You'll be missed but never forgotten" - Victor Alfonso Tobon
"You left us to soon. You were not just my brother but my best friend. A great dad, a loved son, and a great man. Before you left, you taught me the holding grudges will not get me anywhere in life. That we all need to be humble at times...forgive and love with all our hearts. I'll keep moving on because that's what you'd have wanted. I'll make sure your daughter has a bright future and that she knows how much you loved her." - Jordan Tobon
" You lived Laughed and loved And we will never forget you for that." - Jacqueline Tobon
