C. Bruce Lloyd

Our amazing husband, father, and grandfather passed peacefully to a grand reunion with his parents, grandparents and loved ones on the other side of the veil early Wednesday morning, March 16, 2016. He successfully completed his passage through mortality after a long battle with cancer.

Bruce was born February 4, 1942 in Murray, Utah to Alvin B. Lloyd and Lorna Mae Walker. He married the love of his life, Verna Robbins, on August 19, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. Bruce and Verna raised 5 children: Steve (Vicki), Lynda Collman (Jim), Kaelyn Lewis (Perry), Brett (Sherrie) and Kristin Prescott (Rex). They have 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, with 2 more great grandchildren on the way.

Bruce worked hard his entire life in many different professions including concrete worker, draftsman, cabinet maker, computer programmer and computer analyst. He always provided well for Verna and his family.

Bruce loved hunting, fishing, traveling, camping and woodworking. He could fix anything. He was often affectionately referred to as "MacGyver" because he could fix anything with duct tape and bailing wire. Bruce loved sports and supporting his kids and grandkids in all their activities. He loved serving in the LDS Church, including serving as a High Councilor, YM President, Bishop and Temple Worker.

We will miss you so much, but we know you are now able to get around and serve again. We look forward to seeing you again. We love you.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 56 ½ years, his 5 children and their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 great grandsons.

A viewing will be held Sunday, March 20 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St. from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21 at the LDS Chapel at 87 E. 7100 S. at 11:00 am, with a viewing there from 10:00 to 10:45 am. Burial will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 Dimple Dell Rd.
