Byron R Tucker

Byron R Tucker, like a virtual kid brother to the world as with so few fortunate souls who convey this vibration to a world so weary of pretense and artifice, was taken from us, the bereaved, to that glorious home that awaits us on Dec. 23rd.

Born in Brigham City on August 22nd, 1953 to Hyrum Douglas Tucker and Norma Jean Richins, the youngest of three children. He loved traveling to the beehives his father maintained as a hobby along the foothills above Brigham City. His co-workers at the Sandy City Parks Department kiddingly named him Scrumptious Bee!

Diagnosed at birth with attention deficit hyperactive disorder-he was quite a handful to his parents.

His childlike effervescence and skid talking tendency illicited riotous laughter from his co-workers and endeared him to just about everyone he encountered.

He would relate how dogs and cats would follow him home filling the yard and frustating his dad who just got home from work, and how as a toddler he crawled into one end of the culvert where the driveway merged with the sidewalk and getting stuck.

Survived by his sister Judy who resides in a group home in Logan, Utah and preceded in death by his father, his beloved sister Barbara and his mother Norma, and little Bert, Barbara's husband Harland, Loghry's child from a previous marriage-who Byron adored and who never aged physically and died as a toddler at age five. Byron's passing will always have a profound impact on us all and on Larry Pollock, his constant companion and mentor of 38 years-who in a way will always feel his presence whenever he is a away from the maddening crowd. So long, our dear friend, farewell.

There will be a viewing Thursday, Jan. 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St. in Midvale. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 3 at 11 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 W. Lennox St., Midvale, with a viewing from 9-10:45 a.m. at the church.
