Bryce Lloyd Hansen

Bryce Lloyd Hansen passed away peacefully on November 5,2016. Born June 14, 1936 to Lloyd and Mary Hansen in a log cabin in Fountain Green Utah. Bryce spent his childhood years with his family following his fathers mining jobs through Utahs coal country, but his heart was always in Fountain Green. Later in life he had the opportunity to purchase his Grandfathers home and then an additional piece of acreage in Fountain Green where he enjoyed spending every Lamb Day camping with his family. For a career Bryce choose to use his skills as a carpenter, developer, and home builder. Because of his efforts, many of his friends and neighbors were given the opportunity to build a home. Bryce loved the outdoors. Many memories were made with family and friends camping, fishing and hunting. He had a passion for riding horses, raising colts, and later mules. He shared this passion with many, and he believed anyone who wanted to come and ride should be given the opportunity. He also loved his habit of going to the spa at 4:30am every morning with Uncle Dennis, and went regularly for 35 years. Bryce was an avid fan of U of U basketball, classic cars, and motorhomes. Bryce had a very giving heart and loved to serve others. This quality complimented his ability to tease and joke with those he cared about. If there was a way he could illicit a smile, he would try it. His greatest joy came from making others happy. Bryce is survived by his children Jene (DeWayne) Omer, Kelli Crider, Chris (Jerrie) Hansen, Brenda (Mark) Newman, 19 grandchildren, and 24 great grand-children, sisters LoAnn, Marion, Ellen, Beverley, and Doris, his beloved Aunt Rachel Syme. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, JoAnne McNeill Hansen, his parents Mary and Lloyd Hansen, and a son-in law Lenn Crider. Bryces family would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to the care-givers at Country Life Rehab and Elk Medows Assisted Living Center. A viewing for Bryce will be held Wednesday November 9th from 6 to 8pm and Thursday November 10th from 9:30-10:30am. Funeral services will begin at 11am on November 10th. All services will be held at theWasatch Stake Center, located at 8170 S. Shorthills Drive (3425 E) Salt Lake City Utah In lieu of flowers, please take your loved ones out for burnt-almond fudge ice cream, Bryces favorite.
