Brody Joe Taylor

Hoytsville, Utah- Brody J. Taylor finally found peace and went home pain-free on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023, after a year-long battle with colon and liver cancer.
 
He was born on October 9th, 1975, in Jerome, Idaho, to Glen Alberts Taylor and Mary Ann Bolinder (Kilburn). 
 
Brody and his family spent most of his early years living in different places in Weber and Davis counties where he made countless new friends and established lifelong friendships. 
 
In 1988, when his mother remarried and moved the little family to Coalville, Utah, Brody’s true life started.
 
He attended and graduated from North Summit High School in 1993, where he was involved in football, baseball, and wrestling. Like everything Brody did, he gave it his all.
 
Shortly after moving to Coalville, Brody’s life would change forever when he met and started working for Bud and Ralph Judd on their ranch at Grass Creek. From that point forward, Bud was influential in every aspect of his life. Bud passed away in 2022, and that left a hole in Brody’s heart that he never recovered from. Brody spent 35 years ranching, hunting, living, and loving Grass Creek along with his family and friends.
 
Following high school, Brody served a faithful mission to Sydney, Australia, and like everywhere he went, he made relationships with people that he was close with until his passing. He is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
 
Brody married Devani McQueen on February 22, 2001, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They divorced later, but maintained a friendship and relationship that lasted until the moment of his death and will continue to carry on. 
 
They were blessed with 3 amazing children: Peyton Scott, Tasia and Averi Taylor. Each of the 3 has a piece of Brody in them. They will all proudly carry on the legacy of their father with love and pride.
 
Brody had a very interesting and productive professional life. He spent over a decade as a Deputy Sheriff in Summit County (Utah). Following his law enforcement career, Brody started a new adventure with Dominion Energy (and all the subsequent names that are too many to mention). During this time, he also owned and operated A Better Lawn Care, Big T Transport and Hauling, and continued to work daily at the ranch until the last days of his life. Few men have ever been as dedicated to and worked as hard as Brody. 
 
Brody loved the outdoors, and during his “spare time”, he could be found hunting, hauling hay, working cows, buying and selling on KSL, and listening to country music.
 
With his dad and kids, Brody spent a lot of time at Browne and Spirit Lake in the Uintah Mountains, where countless memories were made. It is a sacred place for Brody and his dad.
 
During his cancer journey, Maryann, Brody’s mother; dear friend and brother, Alex Faavale; and his son, Peyton, served as caregivers and constant companions and support. Devani and the girls were his emotional rocks and spent countless hours listening and loving him until the end.
 
Brody is survived by both of his parents, Devani, their amazing children and his brothers; Jason (Jana) Taylor, Highland, Utah; Branden and Josh Bolinder, Star Valley, Wyoming; and a “Band of Brothers, the fetchers” that would influence and love Brody his entire life. To keep from taking up a dozen pages, names will not be listed, you know who you are, and you were deeply loved and appreciated and were and will always be family.
 
A special thanks should be given to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Jeanette Vernon, his medical provider, the IHC Hospice team. In his final days, Audrey his nurse and his dear friend Tracy Sargent with Goff Mortuary. Thank you for your endless support, love, and kindness.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, at the Coalville, Utah Stake Center located at 40 N Main St, Coalville, Utah, @ 4 p.m. 
A service will be held in the chapel. 
 
At Brody’s request, his mortal body was cremated, and the remains will be taken care of and distributed per his instructions.
 
Services will be provided by Tracy Sargent under the direction of Goff Mortuary. 
 
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to further the children's education and care to the Brody J Taylor Family Trust through Venmo @Brody-Taylor-3.
 
Per Brody’s request, a final gift of life can be given by getting your colon cancer screening done as soon as possible.
