Bradley G. Sargent

Bradley G. Sargent, 72, passed away peacefully June 27, 2021 in Hoytsville, Utah with his loving wife, 3 kids and daughter-in-law by his side. He was born October 11, 1948 in Coalville, Utah to Garth and Ruth Jeane Holder Sargent. Brad was the oldest of 4 kids. He graduated from North Summit High School in 1967. He served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California Mission.

He met his sweetheart, Jodie Buck and their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on February 1,1974. They had three kids, Brady, Jeanne, and Courtney. He loved his family with everything he had and was so proud of them.

He retired from the Holcim Cement Plant in Croydon, Utah. He enjoyed who he worked with and loved you guys. He valued your friendships.

He loved his grandkids, Colby (Kylie), Wyatt, Treyton, Buck, Randie, Savannah, Rydge, Maksim, Eli, Kallon, Avery, Aiden and Terrell. He loved watching them play in sports and everything they were involved in. There wasn't many games or activities that he missed. He loved all you kids and was so proud of you all. He loved when you came to visit him or going in the mountains.

He loved listening and singing with Ray Stevens, Marty Robbins, Hank Williams Sr. and Jr. and all the old country music. He loved the farm life and loved the mountains he grew up on. He loved riding his 4-wheeler up the canyon or being on his horse with the cows. He was probably one of the most stubborn guys you could meet, but he was always ready to help whomever needed it or make a sandwich for you. If you were there when he was cooking he would say the "cafe is open or closed" and he'd fix something for you. But if it were eggs he was fixing you were going to have "rocks" in them. He couldn't see the shells to take them out. He was always ready to play a joke on someone, he especially loved putting rocks in our mom's purse. Sometimes he'd even wrap them in tinfoil and she would carry them around for weeks until she wondered why it was so heavy.

He had some close friends and cherished those relationships. Mel, Ron, Justin, John, thank you for all that you have done for him.

Preceded in death by his parents Garth & Jeane Sargent, and many relatives.

Survived by his loving wife Jodie Buck Sargent, son Brady Sargent (Sarah) of Hoytsville, Utah, daughter Jeanne Peterson (Jim) of Clearfield, Utah and daughter Courtney Tucker (Gregory) of Coalville, Utah, his siblings Layne Sargent (Pearl), Kathy Peck (David) and Tracy Sargent (Jill) all of Hoytsville, Utah.

We are so grateful to have had the time with him that we did. We will cherish the memories and know he is smiling down on all of us. He may be shaking his head and saying a few colorful words but he'll be smiling. We are so thankful for all the love, prayers, food and everything else we didn't know we needed but were given. We are especially thankful for the medical staff at the University of Utah hospital. Coalville Health Center, Jeanette and Misty, we are so thankful for everything you've helped with over the years and especially lately. The Canyon Home Care & Hospice, Elsie, Jenalyn, thank you for being there and helping us. It takes a very special person to fill all of your shoes and we couldn't have made it through without you. Goff Mortuary, Tracy! We are so grateful for the respect and quality care you have given our dad.

Bishop Brown, thank you for all your love and support. Thank you for carrying us through this difficult time.

Thank you so much Trace, Jill, Kate, David, Julie, Mel for everything! Thanks to all our many aunts, uncles for your support.
