Bonnie Lyn Gatewood Gone Golfing Nov 1950 - July 2015 Bonnie Lyn Gatewood passed into her Saviors arms on July 12, 2015. She was born November 15, 1950 in Fairfax Oklahoma to Philip and Helen Hunsaker Gatewood. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, half-sister and granddaughter Destiny. She is survived by Marci McGregor, her sister by choice and caregiver, Rita Lasko, her best bud, her respiratory therapy family and her golfing family. Bonnie loved the mountains which brought her to Utah from Oklahoma. She would say that her church was being in Gods mountains. She loved her Oklahoma Sooners which only slightly edged out her support of the Running Utes. She was an avid golfer and worked to pay for her golf. She could frequently be found at Bonneville Golf Course trying to tame the long par 5s. When Bonnie wanted a break from golfing you could find her fishing on a small lake somewhere in the mountains. After years of calling sushi, bait, she became a sushi expert and loved taking friends out for a sushi experience. She spent nearly four decades working as a respiratory therapist and enjoyed caring for her patients and making a difference in someones life. She especially loved working in Thoracic ICU at LDS Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center. Her work family was very important to her and supportive of her during her fight with cancer. Her last several months were spent working on her bucket list with Marci and connecting with extended family and friends. A social gathering celebrating her life will be held from 6:30 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at the LDS Stake Center, 3555 West 5620 South. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bonnie Gatewood memorial fund at any Mountain American Credit Union to support a golf tournament in her memory.
