Bob “Bobbie” McKinnon, our loving Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Dear Friend & self-proclaimed Gambling Professional peacefully passed away on November 19, 2024 in the comfort of his home surrounded by those who dearly loved him.
Born May 13, 1943 in San Francisco, California to Grant Lemuel McKinnon and Arlene Helen Flitton McKinnon, he would soon return with his family to Salt Lake City to enjoy life in the remarkable State of Utah. Shortly after graduating from Granite High in 1961, he married Shauna Gines in the Summer of 1963 in Pocatello, Idaho. They went on to have three loving Daughters.
He would later marry Angie Pikos on November 26, 1969 and have his only Son. They would spend 53 years together. During this time, he would start his own General Contracting business. At the tender age of 51 he traded in his hammer and nails for a “kush” desk job working alongside Angie.
Bob & Angie shared a love for all forms of gambling. This led to countless weekends of “Heading Out West!” to Wendover and many trips down South to the Las Vegas Sunshine. He also loved being outdoors whether hunting, fishing, spending time in the yard or on his patio, walking his loyal companion Solo and most of all his passion for golfing including getting 18 in just five weeks prior to his passing in spite of his courageous battle with cancer. F@#$ Cancer!!!
He is survived by his daughters Kayleen (Rob) Allred, Charleen Thompson (Dave Berrett), Tracy (Stu) Wright, son Jon (Rena) McKinnon, brother Lynn (Laurie) McKinnon, sisters JoAnn Matson, Val (Tim) Durham & Debbie (Mike) Frost, sister-in-law Jacque McKinnon, 23 grandkids, 33 great grandkids, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents Grant & Arlene McKinnon, wife Angie, and brother Paul McKinnon.
The Family would like to extend their eternal gratitude to the dedicated work of Kylee, Kanani, Kelly & Maddie at Valeo Home Health Hospice.
“All there is – is Love” ~Bob~
