Blanche Smith

Blanche Ebert Smith, age 87, died on Thursday, September 1, 2016 in her home in Granite, Utah, in the arms of her loving husband Bill. From her birth in Granite, on November 26, 1928, to her death on Thursday, Blanche nurtured and nourished people in her kind, loving way. She was born in Granite to Otto and Ruth (Thompson) Ebert and was one of six children; Clara, George, Glen, Eldora, Blanche, Carl. She attended Jordan High School where she formed friendships that would last a lifetime. Regardless of where she was, this was central to her life: meeting people and becoming longtime friends.

After high school, Blanche couldn't wait to marry her sweetheart, Bill Smith, and they ran away to do just that on May 31, 1947. They were later sealed for time and all eternity. Together they had a fun filled life traveling the world and spending time with family and friends. They had four children whom Blanche would do anything for. Family was her favorite and most important thing. Always partners in crime, Bill and Blanche loved to travel, dance, sing and have fun. Blanche loved flowers and planted them everywhere. She saw beauty everywhere in the world. She made the best rolls and the best grape juice and was famous for her Christmas fudge. She was the best mother and grandma. She made us all feel loved.

Left to remember her "Forever and Ever" are her loving husband of 69 years, Bill; her four children, Craig (Sharon), Stephen (Diane), Rick (Laura) and Lori (David); 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and siblings, Glen, Carl and Clara.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, with a viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and the funeral at 11:00 a.m. at the Granite Ridge Ward, 9575 S. 3100 E., Sandy, Utah. An evening viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State, Midvale, Utah, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
