Bill Mounteer passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, with his wife of 61 years and his family by his side. He was born on July 8, 1933, and was the eldest of three boys. Bill served in the United States Army in Korea and Japan during the Korean Conflict.
Bill married his sweetheart, Alice Faye White, on April 3, 1953. Together they raised five children, and enjoyed 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Bill loved his family and heritage. Bill served faithfully in many callings for the LDS Church. His favorite calling was working in the Jordan River and Oquirrh Mountain temples for the past 19 years.
Bill is survived by his wife, Faye; his children, Linda (Ken) Exeter, Michael (Linda) Mounteer, Jerry (Susan) Mounteer, Nancy (Gary) Hancock, Karen (Bart) Mason; brothers Gene (Mary Lou) Mounteer and Loren Mounteer; and all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Bluffdale 11th Ward, 14400 S. Redwood Road, Bluffdale, UT, on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 12:00 p.m. There will be a viewing from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., January 2, at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale, UT, and from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to services at the church.
