Beverly Painter

Our sweet wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Beverly Williams Painter, peacefully passed away on Sunday Morning October 17. She was surrounded by her family as she stepped through the veil to be met by her parents, siblings, in-laws and many other family members she loved. Mom was born on June 20, 1948, in Nephi, Utah, the tenth of ten children born to John Lloyd and Della Wilkey Williams.

She was raised in Juab in the section home for the railroad. Mom often told stories about not having running water, making certain the outhouse was clear of unwanted visitors, grabbing breakable items as the trains would rage by only a few feet from the door and needing to be carried to the busses by the drivers so they could go to school. Beverly married her sweetheart Robert L. Painter on August 30, 1965, in Ely Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti L.D.S Temple on April 11, 1989. They are the parents of four sons, Robert Paul (Tracy), Clinton Lynn, Michael Benjamin (Alexandrea), and Christopher Reese (Elizabeth). Their home of 51 years was filled with love, laughter, teasing and lots of good food.

Beverly worked for Catalina, Utah American Corp. and as a lunch lady for the Juab School District. She made many friends in each of these places and especially loved meeting and taking care of the students at the Jr. High School. She knew many of them and always remembered their diet restrictions, making certain each student with a special need had a perfect breakfast ready for them.

Upon retirement mom and dad served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, Hawaii. Their home was just across the street from the center and the Laie temple, where they spent many hours making friends with fellow missionaries at the center and BYU-Hawaii students. Mom served as Relief Society President for the Nephi 7th Ward and loved teaching primary. She has a strong testimony of the gospel and of our Savior Jesus Christ. We all knew of her testimony as she lived a life that was an example of service, compassion and love for others.

Beverly is survived by her sweetheart of 56 years Robert, her 4 sons and 8 grandchildren Amber Leigh, Chase, Sydni, Arabella, Rockwell, Annsley, Cooper, Brooklyn and one more granddaughter on the way; siblings, Florence Peterson, Levan; Sally Williams, Kaysville; Doug (Sandra) Williams, Sandy; and Dorothy Sperry of Nephi, countless nieces and nephews who she loved dearly, and all the many friends of her sons who have a very special place in mom's heart.

Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Kenneth (Margaret) Williams, Lorene (Dennis) Johnson, Sherman Peterson, Shirley (Dee) Bradfield, Grant Williams and Phil Sperry, Elwin Williams and Helen Williams; in-laws Reese and Maxine Painter

Mom is so proud of her family and counted them as her greatest accomplishment. She loved attending their ball games, wrestling matches, dance reviews and other activities. She was our greatest cheerleader, and we know she will continue to cheer for all of us, from beyond the veil.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 25th at 11:00 a.m. in the 7th Ward Chapel, 222 South 100 East, Nephi, with a viewing one hour prior. Friends and family may also call on Sunday, October 24th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North in Nephi. Interment will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi.
