Beverly Anna Barson Hunt

On October 23rd, 2024, Beverly Anna Barson Hunt peacefully slipped the bonds of mortality, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. Born on July 12, 1939, to Aaron V. and Margaret Miller Barson, she was the first of nine children. Alongside her sister Virginia, Beverly played an instrumental role in assisting their parents with raising their six younger brothers, instilling in her a nurturing spirit that would define her life's work.

A passionate educator, Beverly's teaching career spanned several districts, including Davis, Pahoa in Hawaii where she taught disabled children, the U.S. Air Force Base in Aschaffenburg, Germany, Las Vegas, and Granite School District. She loved teaching various grades, continually developing her skills while touching the lives of countless students until her retirement in 2005.

Her commitment to education was evident in her academic pursuits. Beverly completed a certificate at Stevens-Henager Business College in 1964, and later earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Utah State University. She was honored with a lifetime membership in the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi for her academic excellence.

Beyond her professional life, Beverly was an accomplished pianist and vocalist. Together with her sister Virginia, she performed duets throughout Cache Valley, winning the Cache Valley Farm Bureau Contest and advancing to state-level competitions. At Utah State, she immersed herself in extracurricular activities, participating in the Chansonettes, Madrigals, Rodeos, and the ROTC Rifle Club. Her love for ballroom dancing, especially the waltz, was a cherished pastime.

Beverly's adventurous spirit led her to live and teach abroad. While in Germany, she embraced the opportunity to travel extensively, visiting countries across Europe and North Africa, including England, Scotland, Belgium, Spain, Morocco, Portugal, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Austria.

Affectionately known as "Auntie Bev," she considered each of her nephews and nieces—the "Second Generation"—and her great-nephews and great-nieces—the "Third Generation"—as part of her own family. She cherished the times she cared for them, always viewing them as perfect in her eyes.

Beverly married Jacy Hunt in 1970; they later divorced.

She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She developed an abiding testimony of her Savior and demonstrated her faith through her compassionate actions and the way she lived her life.

She will always be remembered with great affection and a smile by her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, her cherished siblings Virginia and Vincent, and one nephew, Steven Barson. She is survived by her six brothers, Lyle (Janice), Aaron (Kathy), Harold (Vivian), Larry (Irene), Ralph (Cheryl) and Terry.
