Betty Sanders

Betty Brown Sanders, 72, of Nephi, Utah, passed peacefully from this life on October 24, 2017 with her loving husband and children by her side.

Betty was born on June 29, 1945 in Payson, Utah to Douglas Marion and Mildred Irene Croff Brown.  She was the 5th child of 6.  Betty grew up on a farm 2 miles west of Nephi and attended Nephi Central School and graduated from Juab High School in 1963.  While in school, Betty participated in many school plays, operetta's and was a member of the Juab High Provita.  She was invited to participate on the Eugene Jelesnik "Talent Showcase" a local Utah weekly broadcast.

Betty was married and sealed to her sweetheart Kirk Sanders on September 7, 1963 in the Manti Temple.  Together they had 4 children: Jeffery Kirk, Cami Sue, Tricia and Amee Lee.

In 1976 they lost their daughter Cami Sue at the age of 10 to Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  While Kirk worked at the family business, Garrett Honda Motorsports, Betty had several jobs outside of the home where she made good friends and was known to tell a joke or two.  She also held various callings within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but the job she loved the most was being a wife, mom, grandmother and serving others.  She sang at many funerals and programs, played the piano, organ, and accordion at countless weddings.  She loved to crochet, emborder, sew and spent countless hours learning the lost art of tatting lace around handkerchiefs.  Betty enjoyed gardening and loved planting flowers and yard work.

She had an extremely good memory and could remember every one of her family members birthdates, she would call at the crack of dawn singing Happy Birthday.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and a spirited personality that brought excitement and amusement into the lives of those who knew her.

Betty is survived by her husband, Kirk Sanders; 3 children, Jeffery (Katrina) Sanders, Tricia (Rod) Steele and Amee (Jayson) Sperry; 8 grandchildren, Calin, Carston (Kendra), Makai, Jayce, Makayla, Dyllan, Ryland and Jaida; sister, Sonia Brown Liddiard and brother, Terry (Lorraine) Brown.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Cami Sue Sanders; her parents, Douglas and Mildred Brown; 2 brothers, Tommy Brown and Ronald (Ila) Brown and sister, Marion Brown Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior at the Nephi Stake Center, 351 N. 100 W., Nephi, Utah.  Family and friends may call Sunday evening, October 29, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home 94 W. 300 N., Nephi, Utah. Interment, Vine Bluff Cemetery.
