Betty Holladay Pierson, 99, died peacefully at her home in South Jordan, Utah. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah to John W. and Lillian Z. Holladay. She grew up in the Bountiful and Holladay, Utah areas, where Betty loved working in the yard and orchards with her father. She attended South High School. Her life revolved around her love of music from an early age. She played several musical instruments, wrote music and poetry, and later in life, directed two bands, playing at events, senior centers and nursing homes for the enjoyment of the many who listened. Betty loved the outdoors and their beautiful home and gardens in Draper, Utah.
Married Lloyd B. Carpenter, (divorced). Married Clyde W. Pierson. She is survived by her children, Richard L. Pierson, (Judy), Cedar City, Utah, James C. Pierson (Barbara), Delta, Utah, Daniel J. Pierson, Las Vegas, NV, Holly J. Steadman (Brian), Island Park, Idaho, Tammy S. Hardt (James), Hiland, Utah. Betty had 15 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, her son Billy, daughter Kathleen, and her grandson Greg Pierson.
A viewing will be held at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State, Midvale, Utah on Thursday, 07/13 at 10:00 am. Graveside service to be held at Sandy City Cemetery on Thursday, 07/13 at 11:30 am. The family wishes to thank the staff of Legacy House Assisted Living and Brighton Hospice for their loving care.
