Betty Palmer

Betty Hawker Palmer, 83, of South Jordan, Utah returned home to a joyous reunion with her late husband David E. Palmer, sons Michael D. Palmer and Elmer Ralph Palmer, daughter Sherri M. Palmer, brothers, sisters, parents, and many others.

Born humbly in the back bedroom of her grandparents home in Lehi, Utah on March 5th, 1936. The eldest daughter of 12 children, she remained a diligent support to her mother as a surrogate mother to many of her younger brothers and sisters. Born into a family of humble means, they never forgot the value of family, sharing, hard work and integrity.

Passed away suddenly on Dec. 18th, 2019 surrounded by a large number of her family who were blessed to share in her sacred graduation day. The family shared stories, songs, music, and a solemn reverence and reflection.

Her posterity is her highest achievement, she always remained a powerful example of love and truth to all whom she held dear.

A graduate of Jordan High School, she fulfilled a promise to her father to complete her graduation after marrying her sweetheart on her 18th birthday.

Church work and temple work were those things that brought balance unto her eternal journey, as she found her mission was within the Lord's plan.

Relief Society - Primary - Sunday School - Missionary Work - Visiting Teaching and serving all, even unto the misplaced and often the weak and downtrodden.

She married Gale L. Palmer in 2017 and they treasured the companionship and kindnesses that they showed each other. As a family, we extend our deepest condolences to him. We ask that he always remember that we appreciate him and his children for the tendernesses they shared with our mother and grandmother.

She was the mother of six children, grandmother of 17, great-grandmother of 32, and great-great-grandmother of 9. Survived by sons Jay L. Palmer, Jerry G. Palmer, and Dave M. Palmer (Denise). Preceded in death by husband David E. Palmer, sons Michael D. Palmer and Elmer R. Palmer, daughter Sherri M. Palmer, numerous brothers and sister, daughter-in-law, and great-grandson.
