Betty Lou Ostler, 90, passed away August 8, 2017 in Nephi, Utah. She was born Dec. 15, 1926 in Levan, Utah to Owen D. and Nina Jackman Taylor. Married Arthur G. Ostler on Dec. 3, 1945 in Levan. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on June 25, 1966. Art passed away on April 2, 1994.
She sold tickets for the Ute Stampede Rodeo and worked in the Hospitality Booth for the contestants for 50-plus years. She worked at the Nephi City Library for several years. She was active in the LDS Church, serving as Relief Society President, Sunday School Secretary, and Primary President and Secretary, but her favorite calling was making the sacrament meeting bread. She made cinnamon rolls, and sent them all over the world to her grandsons. She was a voracious reader, and an excellent seamstress and quilter. She also loved gardening.
Survived by daughter, Cheri (Lyn) Vickery; son, Larry (Ellen) Ostler; seven grandsons and 24 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a great-grandson, Austin Vickery; and a sister, Elaine Stewart.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m., with a viewing one hour prior to services, at the Nephi 8th Ward, 222 South 100 East in Nephi, Utah. There will also be a viewing Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North in Nephi. Interment, Vine Bluff Cemetery.
