Our dear sweet wife and mother, Betsey Luella Stratton Meidlinger, passed away December 12, 2014. It was a very sad, but peaceful day. She was as "good as gold" and the world truly is a better place because she was here. She was the epitome of kindness, sweetness, and love. It would be impossible to say an unkind thing about her. She was an example of Christlike love and sacrifice, especially when it came to her family. She left a loving legacy of a tender and humble heart. She brought light into the world and Heaven is certainly brighter today with her return. Heaven is so lucky!
Betsey was born April 16, 1938 to Martin D. and Luella Pedersen Stratton. She grew up in Holladay with two older brothers and an older sister whom she loved dearly. She graduated from Olympus High School in 1956 and later attended BYU where she met her sweetheart. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved each of her church callings, especially those involving the Primary children. They held a special place in her heart. She had a firm testimony of the gospel and a deep love of the Savior--this was evident in all she did.
She never complained and met every physical challenge (and there were many) with a smile. She was lucky to have met the best companion that anyone could ask for. He was with her every step of the way and could make her smile and laugh with just a look. Together they could tackle anything.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents; brother, Paul; sister, Zelda; and baby grandson, Niklas. She will be missed by her husband, Richard; children, Diane (Todd) Tripp, Rich (Cheri), Janet Svendsen, Connie (Randy) Judd; brother, David; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20, at 11:00 A.M. at the Midvale 8th Ward Chapel, 8350 So. Jackson St., Midvale, Utah. You may also pay your respects Friday evening, December 19, 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So.
